Aviation Medical Certificate

Atlas Flight School strongly recommends that you get your medical completed prior to starting training.

The timeline depends on your goals and schedule as well as individual pace, commitment and other factors:

Accelerated Career Track: Aspiring professional pilots can earn their first license in as little as 2 months and complete all necessary certifications in about 2 years.

Recreational Pilots: Those flying for pleasure typically earn their first license in about 6 months.

No prior experience is necessary. Our certified instructors will guide you every step of the way, starting from the basics.

Costs depend on the program and flight hours required. A typical private pilot license costs between $10,000 and $15,000, while advanced ratings vary. 

We meticulously maintain a fleet of safe, modern aircraft, including Cessna 172’s and a Piper Comanche. These same aircraft are available for rental by qualified pilots.

Yes, you’ll need to obtain at least a third-class medical certificate for most training. We can help you find a local Aviation Medical Examiner to complete your flight physical exam.

You must be at least 16 to solo and 17 to obtain a private pilot certificate. Younger students can begin ground school and Discovery Flights.
